An alienated and misanthropic teenager gains sudden and unwanted celebrity status after he's taken hostage by terrorists where his indifference to their threats to kill him makes news headlines.

5 people are being held hostage in a convenience store for 36 days. One of the demands of the hostage takers is that all TV-stations should broadcast the entire situation live. Cliff and Wendy are the only survivors, and when the are released, they are heroes. Especially Cliff is a national hero, and his apathetic ideology "so fucking what" turns into a national movement. Cliff Spab is a guy wh! o doesn't really care about anything. He gets held hostage at a store for 36 days by terrorists, who demand that the entire thing be broadcast on national television. Cliff ends up taking a bullet for fellow hostage Wendy - making him a national hero. The two are the sole survivors of the ordeal, and soon become prisoners of the media. Cliff Spab turns from Burger Boy employee into media superstar after being held hostage for 36 days inside a convenience store. The terrorists demanded that their broadcasts be televised live and uncut or the hostages would be killed, and Spab captured the worldwide audiences attention with his wit, humor, and famous slogan "So F*cking What?". After shooting his way to freedom, Cliff finds himself not wanting to be where everybody knows his name, and instead tries to avoid the media ! and find Wendy, a fellow hostage who captured his heart.
